Welcome to Said Nursi Mosque, a vibrant community center located in Tottenham. Our mosque aims to serve as a central hub, conveniently situated within walking distance of Northumberland Park Overground Train Station and Bus Station. For those arriving by car, we are just a short drive from A406 – Angel/Montagu Road Junction.
Established in 2009, Said Nursi Mosque was initially registered as Nur Cultural Education Association with Companies House. Subsequently, we received recognition from the Charity Commission for England and Wales. In 2012, our organization commenced its operations as Said Nursi Mosque, providing daily prayer facilities to the community.
Since 2016, we have expanded our services to include five daily prayers ncluding Friday’s Jumu’ah with Khutbah. Moreover, we offer Taraweeh prayers during the holy month of Ramadan, and our Islamic School provides Qur’an and Tazweed classes. We are proud to host a range of activities and events, such as the Food Bazaar, Fundraising events, Football Matches, and engaging indoor and outdoor activities for children. Additionally, we offer classes tailored to adults who seek further knowledge and spiritual growth.
In line with our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the community, we are currently planning to expand our services. Our future plans include extending the Islamic School to provide enhanced educational opportunities, as well as establishing a Nursery to cater to the needs of young children on weekdays. THE CURRENT FINANCIAL SITUATION
Building for the Future: Your Support Makes a Lasting Difference
Said Nursi Mosque, a registered charity, relies solely on the generous donations from individuals like you to fulfill our mission. We are excited to share that we have recently purchased the entire building, including the first floor, second floor, and adjacent units (Unit 13 and Unit 14), expanding our capacity to serve the community.
With a total size of nearly 750 sq meters, this acquisition marks a significant milestone in our journey. Alhamdulillah, we have already paid £500K, without resorting to interest-based mortgages or assistance from banks. Out of this amount, £250K is an interest-free Karz Hasanah loan, illustrating our commitment to financial integrity.
To complete the remaining balance of £850K, we have established a monthly installment plan of £31,250 over 26 equal installments, culminating in a final payment of £37,500. Thus far, we have diligently fulfilled four installments.
To transform this space into a beacon of spiritual growth and community empowerment, we seek your support. Your contributions will be instrumental in funding essential renovation works, estimated to cost approximately £400K. These repairs and maintenance efforts are crucial in creating a safe and welcoming environment for all.
